Of Matter and Spirit

I live on this planet, probably just like you, and I like it and do not want to escape to any other world.

No other spiritual or any other kind of world or any other kind of reality.

So, what's the Matter?

Matter for me is this planet earth. Matter is this life I live.

Matter means business, money and the temporary and unconscious life.

I work in the business world. I even studied business in a previous life.

I do respect money.

I respect the fact that this world (at least for now) basically runs on money.

That doesn't mean that I love money and want lots of it. It just means that money is currently something like a law in physics. Like the law of gravity. I don't have to like gravity, it's just there.

I live in Germany and its position in Europe is rather central, so I think.

For me Europe feels like the center between the American and the Asian way of life.

The American way of life represents a rather material way of life for me.

I experienced it first hand, living for some time in the USA and working for many years in multinational companies with a very strong Anglo-Saxon "get things done" attitude.

Give me some high Spirits!

Asia. Asia has fascinated me now for some time in my life. Asia represents to me rather the spiritual way of life. Of course there have been many changes in Asia in the past 40 years and it has become much more materialistic. But the DNA of Asia and what I take away from it is still very much spiritual.

I have spent a lot of years in my recent life on the spiritual path and I took away a lot of positive influence for me.

Spirit is for me the permanent and the conscious life.

I learned to meditate and practice Zen meditation now as an almost daily routine.

I leaned about the power of letting go and just going with the flow and trusting myself and life itself.

I experienced that there is so much more to the material world than I thought some years ago.

Best of both Worlds.

In this blog I would like to combine the best of both worlds.

I believe that life on this planet needs both energies.

The material as well as the spiritual energy make up "the world as we know it".

Just sitting on a pillow in the corner of your room and meditating your life away will not move humanity to the next stage alone.

Just focussing on creating better material possessions and partying your life away will will not move humanity to the next stage alone.

And then there are of course some imminent threats to our planet and life in general, like climate change, which even require rather urgently a combination of the material and the spiritual power.

Ok, for now, I guess that I established my most basic outlook on life.

Everything is about matter and spirit and how both forces work with each other and in the most beautiful cases a combination can create then really exceptional results.

I search for those anomalies in life and try to take something away for me personally...
